Thursday, June 19th, 5:30-7:30: Opening reception for a show of this year’s CSArt participants at Cambridge Center for Adult Education in Harvard Square. I will not be in attendance but will have work in the show since I’m making a line of map drawings for this year’s CSArt shares! More information about CSArt here.
Sunday, July 20th, 2-3pm: I will be giving a free imaginary map workshop in Baxter Park in Somerville, produced by Assembly Row as part of the Arts in the Park series. The format will be similar to my Skillshare workshop, and attendance is similarly limited (to 30 participants, though more can come to watch or draw with their own materials)
Through September 12th: Exhibition of this year’s CSArt participants at Cambridge Center for Adult Education in Harvard Square. I have four works in this show, including a new map! More information about CSArt here.
Through October 19th: “Artists in the Arboretum”, a group show at Arnold Arboretum that includes my work. The show will be on view during JP Open Studios the following weekend, and through October 19th. Hours are 10am-5pm for JPOS weekend and all weekdays except Wednesdays.

Friday, December 5, 7-10pm: Opening reception for a show of my work at Picture Place Gallery, 320A Harvard Street in Brookline. I have about 20 works in this show, including a few brand new projects. The reception will also include a drop-in collaborative drawing project—come and see the work, and then add your map-inspired marks in a fun visual guestbook. Saturday, March 16, 11am-noon: I will host a mapmaking workshop for adults and also children age 9 and over at Old Schwamb Mill in Arlington as part of the “Driven to Abstraction” group exhibition. The workshop will focus on how art maps can relate to personal experience and will encourage visitors to create their own maps from their lives. There is a $5 entry fee; participation is limited to 15 and some spots have already been claimed, so RSVP now to Ed Gordon at email@example.com or 781 643-0554 to save your spot. I will also have greeting cards and a small selection of posters available for sale at the Mill as part of the group exhibition “Driven to Abstraction”, whose closing reception is the same day from 3:30-4:30pm — don’t miss it!
May 4 + 5, 12-6pm: Somerville Open Studios. I will be at a NEW location this year — Artisan’s Asylum, the wonderful makerspace near Union Square where I have my studio. Through May 6: Somerville Open Studios artists’ display in the Inside-Out gallery, the display space in front of the Davis Square CVS. The display includes this graphic watercolor map of mine.
Through May 10: Artist’s Choice exhibition of Somerville artists at the Somerville Museum, including over 120 works of art by as many artists. A wonderful overview of some of the variety in the Somerville art community.
Saturday, May 18, 4-6pm: Opening reception for “Conversations” group exhibition at Grace Chapel Gallery in Lexington, MA. The work I have on display is part of a collaboration with two other Artisan’s Asylum artists on the theme of fjords and natural formations. Friday, July 12, 7-10pm: Opening reception for group show “Me and My Friends Make Art” at Washington Street Art Center. I will have two small map drawings in this show, which includes artists from across the Boston area. See the venue’s site or the Facebook event for more information.
July 19-20: ArtBeat in Davis Square. I won’t be participating myself, but I will have a tiny drawing in a tiny new gallery that will be unveiled at this event. The gallery is literally tiny – only 10″ x 16″ x 8″ – and will be permanently installed in Union Square later this summer as a public art piece, with my work in it as part of a group exhibition entitled “Invisible Cities“. August 15, 6:30-8pm: Ribbon-cutting ceremony for The Micro Museum, a tiny (10″ x 16″ x 8″!) gallery space being installed as a public art piece in Union Square. The event is also the opening reception for the Museum’s inaugural exhibition “Invisible Cities“, which includes my tiniest map yet (it’s about 2″ x 3”).
August 31+September 1, 12-6pm: Boston Arts Festival in Columbus Park, near Long Wharf. I will be bringing a variety of original works and prints, as well as some of my new abstract drawings.
Saturday, December 7, 1-4pm: Artisan’s Asylum Winter Open Studios. I will be displaying framed artwork, prints and cards in my studio space. Come to see where I work and also meet the wide variety of makers that use this space.
Saturday, December 7, 11-4pm: Union Square Winter Craft Market. I won’t be physically there but my work will be represented by an assistant who is well-equipped to answer any questions. My stock at this event will include not only art, prints and cards but also jewelry and accessories.

Saturday, August 25th, 11-6pm: Picnic Music + Arts Festival in Portland, ME. The festival will take place at Congress and Franklin streets, in Lincoln Park, and will be on rain or shine. I will be sharing a booth with the wonderful and talented Courtney of Closer to the Ocean.
September 8-9, 12-6pm: Boston Arts Festival in Christopher Columbus Park on the Boston waterfront. I will have a full range of original map drawings, as well as prints, cards and papercut projects.
Thursday, September 13, 7-10pm: RAW Artists presents “ENSEMBLE“, at The Estate nightclub. A evening spectacle of visual art, dance, DJ performance, live music, art projection, fashion, body paint, and more. 21+, cocktail attire preferred. Purchase tickets ($10 each, and first 20 will receive a mini map canvas!)
Saturday, October 13 – Sunday, October 14, 12 – 5pm: Arlington Open Studios, held at Arlington Center for the Arts. I will be in the Gymnasium location, with cards, prints and original drawings as well as a selection of jewelry. If you want to see the most complete selection of my original artwork, I would suggest coming on Sunday, because some of it will be elsewhere on Saturday (see below).
Saturday, October 13, 3-7pm: I will be pulling off a feat of scheduling and having my artwork at the first Somerville Mini Maker Faire at the same time as my body is at Arlington Open Studios. If you can make it to both, you will be one of the few to see all of my work in one place on Saturday.
Saturday, December 1, 12-5pm: Artisan’s Asylum open studios. My participation is TBA (as you may have figured), but regardless the event is not to be missed. Tour the huge makerspace, view demonstrations and meet some quirky, creative folks.
Sunday, December 2, 5-7pm: Opening reception for “Somewhereville” solo exhibition of my work at Bloc 11 Cafe in Union Square. Around 50 map drawings from the last three years, including new digital collage experiments. Exhibition will run through December 14.
